Peer Review: What’s Wrong?

Hey, Sappies. Welcome back. Today, we decided to send our Final Task to a few friends. This was just to make sure that everything looked a-okay and that our opening sequence was perfect for Cambridge. It actually turned out that this was super helpful, since we got a lot of feedback as to what could make the project better.

We already knew that we were having some difficulties with the voiceover, but we decided to see if it was simply because we were picky or if it noticeable. Turns out that it was. We got feedback on how the audio was almost too crisp up to the point where it sounded kind of off as a voice over. And then people were also telling us about how the speed of my voice was way too fast. I knew that the script was long, but by wanting to keep unnecessary parts, I sounded like I was speaking on 2.0x and ended up being unintelligible. Some people said that the scenes flowed kind of weird and how some clips were either unnecessary, repetitive, or just random as clips that had nothing to do with each preceded one another. Others also said that it was due to the fact that some scenes looked kind of awkward because the character was moving too slow or making a weird face. We of course knew that this was all reliable information, as most of the people reviewing had good projects. Others, simply knew what they were doing. And others, just had a better perspective- being a first time viewer.

While this was a lot to get done, it was essential. And so, we spent absolutely way too long editing what we needed to. Although that’s for next blog, Sappies. Be ready, or don’t. It’s not long, it just felt like it. Really, it did. See you.

XOXO
