Production Blog: Commencement
Welcome back, Sappies. In today's blog we'll be going over the beginning of the creative process for my commercial. Better know as the Charmmercial.
Per usual, I'm using CapCut to edit my clips together. No this is not sponsored, but CapCut is truly the best free editing app I've used. Take the advice from someone who loves to edit.
Anyways, Sappies, first up is the intro. Now, me, I am not one for boring intros. I cannot stand when a commercial has a boring start. That is the exact reason the "Skip Ad" button exists. The point of my commercial though, is to have a cute start. So that you don't feel like clicking that button. So to be a bit creative, I first started off with a long horizontal black screen, super cute. (For those of you in need of some help, that's called sarcasm.) I added the rest of my clips- the photos and videos- in order to have them all lined up horizontally, to really give my commercial that "on a TV" sort of effect. I then added my audio, which is the song Falling Behind by Laufey, to which credits will be given. Going back to the beautiful black screen of death, I overlaid some short clips of me, to truly add the spicy, colorful effect i was going for. I lowered the opacity of those clips and put them together to be about 12 seconds so that they would fit to the introduction part of the song- before you hear any lyrics. I also took away the sound from each clip of the intro besides the first, to which I lowered the volume of. Now when the lyrics do start, you get to see (again) the purpose of this commercial, me. The pictures of me kayaking, eating, skating and the videos of me lip syncing and hanging out with my friends.
But, Sappies, to be completely honest, I stopped there. Editing is not in fact, for the weak, and I got bored. So, until tomorrow, I guess. See you then.
XOXO,
Char
